May 2010

Chris has just put the finishing touches on

“Christmas isn’t Christmas”.  The track will appear on the

SideBMusic Christmas compilation,

Rockin’ the Mistletoe.  The CD will be available Fall 2010.


March 2010

Chris is currently in the studio working on his upcoming CD,

Disguise the Limit.  The new record, a follow up to 2008’s

critically acclaimed, Dreamtown, is nearing completion.


December 2, 2008

Dreamtown in now available at SideBMusic and various online music

retailers. 


August 5, 2008

Chris has signed with SideBMusic.  His CD, Dreamtown is scheduled for release in the Fall.


February 26, 2008

Dreamtown is finished. The disc is currently being mastered in Charlotte. Chris is on the verge of making distribution arrangements for the CD with an indie label. An announcement is coming soon!


June 29, 2007

Chris English is putting the finishing touches on his new CD, Dreamtown. He is currently completing the vocals for the last two songs on the disc.


February 8, 2007

Chris will be appearing in the musical tribute to June Carter Cash, Wildwood Flowers, when the show opens in Charlotte on May 16th. He will be playing a variety of instruments as well as delivering lines as an actor. Charlotte actress of note, Gina Stewart - a longtime friend - and her band, Volatile Baby, star in this highly acclaimed show. The show will run from May 16th through the 27th at The Booth Playhouse in Charlotte, NC. Tickets and information for this and other upcoming shows available through The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.


January 20, 2007

"Sunshine Routine," penned by Chris and lyricist/collaborator David Beard, is now available on the Carl Wilson tribute CD, Under God. The disc accompanies the December edition of Endless Summer Quarterly and is available at the publication's website. The CD feature songs from a variety of notable recording artists, including Brian Wilson, Robert Lamm of Chicago and Gerry Beckley of America.


November 14, 2005

Chris was featured on the critically acclaimed Complex Radio at WSGE (91.7 FM) in Dallas, NC near Charlotte. Host, Preston Toney - and former roommate, the inimitable "Emperor Slubby" (aka Ryan Miller from the band Black Congo, NC -  interviewed Chris and played a sampling of his material-some old, some new. There was a great deal of unusual bantering between the guys-including the show's PSA announcer, Rob. Chris performed three original compositions. He also brought along some music by artists that have inspired and influenced him over the years.


October 29 , 2005

At a tribute to the music of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Chris performed David Crosby's “Laughing”. He was accompanied by local singer/songwriter JD Wilson. Chris returned the favor and played organ with an all-star lineup on Neil Young's “Vampire Blues”.


July 2005

Chris composed and performed the music for The Inexpressible Horror. He also edited the final cut for the film-written and directed by Charles Meauhead for Tripod Frog Productions-and assisted in sound design and foley. The short film is a send up of 1950s-style horror film trailers. "We had a lot of fun with this project," Chris stated recently, adding, "I think audiences will really get a kick out it." The film is slated to be screened in regional festivals in the US beginning in late 2005.


April 2005

The official release of Dreamtown, the new CD from Chris English will be announced later this Spring.

Chris has been spending time in the studio recording a faithfully rendered version of the Brian Wilson/Van Dyke Parks composition Surf's Up. The song, featured on Wilson's recently released SMiLE CD, was originally intended for the scrapped Beach Boys album of the same name. English's version is slated for an upcoming Brian Wilson tribute CD. Artists interested in submitting material for the project should click on the contact link below. February 2005

Chris began playing drums with the highly acclaimed Gospel Choir from Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. He has been singing in the choir since 2004.


October 2004

Chris performed Bob Dylan's “You Ain't Goin' Nowhere” at a tribute to the songwriter at The Evening Muse in Charlotte.
